Personal work.
Whenever this maladaptive, dysgenic foolishness we're living through gets me down, I paint something from The Silmarillion, and claw back some of my sanity.
This is the Vala, Yavanna. She's the fertility/mother goddess of Tolkien's pantheon, in all but name. She represents a feminine ideal of mine, and a celebration of renewal, and rebirth.
Here she is with the Maia of her realm of nature, greeting the fire spirit, Arien, as she steers the ship of the sun, to its first sunrise over Arda (Middle Earth).
For Maia, think Gandalf, Saruman, the Balrog of Moria, and even Sauron himself at one time. They are the people of the Valar, and enact their will. Angels, essentially.
This tune help oil the wheels, and gave me that triumphant note I was after, while painting this.
